Leaving Puerto Montt or Puerto Varas bordering Llanquihue Lake to reach Frutillar. Cityd funded in 1856 as a shipping port for riparian colonists. With the arrival of railroad in 1907, the village of Frutillar Alto was born, along the Pan-American road that highly contrasts with Frutillar Bajo nestled on the shores of Llanquihue Lake. In summertime, the Musical Weeks take place in the splendid Teatro Del Lago. The city experienced a touristic rise in the last two decades thanks to the efforts and inventiveness of its inhabitants who restored the traditional buildings setting up a beautiful waterfront with spectacular and impeccable gardens where hydrangeas, dahlias, begonias and roses abound. Afterwards, we will go to Colono Alemán Museo that provides a synopsis of what was the epic story of German colonization and how they were working and living. We will then be transferred to Puerto Octay, a city that, during the German colonization, was the main port on Llanquihue Lake for its proximity with the city of Osorno. Our trip will end with Centinela peninsula, visiting its beautiful hotel that has a great view on the lake as well as its impeccable gardens.
